26 March, 2020. In line with national efforts towards combating the COVID-19 pandemic, and in cooperation with National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) and Dubai Health Authority (DHA) we would like to inform clinical facilities in the Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) free zone about new guidelines for COVID-19 tests and updated National Guidelines.
Effective Saturday, 28 March, 2020, Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA), the governing body of the free zone, instructs all DHCC-based hospitals and clinics to send COVID-19 PCR tests to Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital in Abu Dhabi which has been authorised to carry out required PCR tests until further notice. Private laboratories in DHCC are not authorised for aforementioned tests. Please refer to
COVID-19 Test Process and Guidelines for further details.
Note: PCR tests from DHCC-based hospitals and clinics will no longer be accepted by Latifa Hospital and/or laboratories in private hospitals in the mainland.
In addition, hospitals and clinics in DHCC are required to refer to the updated
National Guidelines for Clinical Management and Treatment of COVID-19. These guidelines mention that all samples for testing in Dubai should be sent to Latifa Hospital; kindly note the inclusion of MCH mentioned earlier.
We look forward to your understanding and support to help limit the spread of COVID-19.
Kind regards,
