DHCA Alert: COVID-19 – Launch of Volunteering Program

02 April, 2020. In line with national efforts towards combating the COVID-19 pandemic and to increase healthcare access in this critical time, we are pleased to inform you about the launch of our Volunteering Program.  

Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA), the governing body the Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), calls on professionals (HCPs) in the free zone and the wider UAE to sign up as volunteers to join frontline heroes in DHCC-based hospitals. The program connects hospitals with licensed HCPs as well as individuals with medical background. 

Through the program, volunteer names will be added to a DHCC Volunteer Registry, managed by Dubai Healthcare City Authority – Regulatory (DHCR), the regulator of the free zone. Based on identified needs by a hospital, DHCR will assign volunteers. 

Steps

• For DHCC-based hospitals:
• Download and complete this form, and email volunteer@dhcr.gov.ae.
• As volunteers become available, DHCR will provide a list of HCPs. It is the hospital's responsibility to contact the volunteer/s.
• For HCPs:
• DHCA welcomes applications from both DHCC-licensed HCPs as well as unlicensed volunteers (refer to DHCR Requirements for Clinical Practice for Unlicensed Volunteers). 
• Download and complete this form, and email volunteer@dhcr.gov.ae.
• DHCR will add the name to the Volunteer Registry, and assign volunteers to hospitals as required.
• The hospital will contact the HCP directly.
